Google and Apple were the two front runners in today's Technology and Privacy hearing which served as an amusing show at best, don't get me wrong I enjoy watching geeks sweat just as much as the next guy, but I find it ironic anytime the federal government tries to lecture others on the overreaching or abuse of information and the means of acquiring it. A lot of good points were made but whether or not anything tangible gets put into place will be interesting to see, because we all know smart phones are the governments best friend. Now I'm hoping enough sons and daughters of congressmen use these devices to provoke them to action because trust and privacy in the Internet and what ultimately takes place is in every ones best interest. Frankly I'm more interested in who didn't make the hearing as Facebook failed to be lumped in with the rest of the offenders considering they seem to invade user privacy and sell the information gained to the highest bidder just as much if not more so than Google or Apple. Lets just hope that means Facebook has the purest intentions out of the three.
