I want to revisit a remark that was made earlier that I feel I miss judged a bit. Someone had asked what I had been doing to cherish the meaningful and important connections in my life. I'm assuming this person knew me to some degree at some point in time. I think it has a lot to do with the way you define meaningful and important. A lot of people cling to false entitlements like mother, father, husband, wife, son, daughter, or friend where as I like to view it as just people who either bring out the good or teach you something new about yourself you hadn't known was there and if your really lucky both. I think these individuals or relationships are much harder to come by then we typically allow ourselves to admit and more often than not titles just allow people to go through the motions and become complacent. If you're not accomplishing either of those two ideals well than you can't say they're meaningful or important. A lot of people fill our lives, but few make it worth living and like all things they're fleeting. I can honestly say I've met a very small number of individuals who fit this description and I cherish ever minute that we've spent together.
I think it has something to do with incorporating those experiences and qualities with the intent of passing them along to others.

I'm glad you clarified. Do you feel like maybe you've looked over people from your past and haven't appreciated them enough? Or maybe you did cherish them but didn't show it? Maybe they never knew...
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's something anyone has control over. I think most people go through life without ever knowing who they are and it's something that can't be taught. That's the endless journey, that's what it's all about and when you find those individuals I'm talking about you just know it, it's something you feel and can't rightly put into words.
ReplyDeleteI think it has everything to do with being in the right place at the right time.
ReplyDeleteI wish you the best babe...
