PREDICT THE NEWS A HUFFINGTON POST

In a time when networks struggle to achieve profitability Huffington Post may be on to something. Their latest feature ‘Predict the News’ turn’s reader/subscriber into potential analyst in a sophisticated Q&A. With all the changes to happen to search and social networking this tops the list in clever delivery; demonstrating the benefit of both when incorporated correctly. It will be interesting to see how Huffington holds on to user engagement as they require more and more of them.

Will they adequately compensate those who consistently “predict the news” correctly, or see fit to simply take advantage of the resulting effects (will users care)? It also begs the question as to how stable R&D and Marketing departments really are as markets shrink, speed up, and become easier to pull answers from.
