A teaming of the world's biggest cell-phone and software manufacturers, respectively, would seem like an obvious success story in the making. Yet past stumbles by both Nokia and Microsoft in the smart phone market makes their announcement of a partnership more an intriguing possibility for consumers than a sure bet.
