Federal prosecutors say 10 Brooklyn residents fraudulently billed
the Medicare system for $90 million. They were part of a national sweep
leading to the arrests of 111 people in six states.
The Department of Justice said the sweep is intended as a show of
strength to deter future criminals, but there's no alleged conspiracy or
any connection between the cases, which the DOJ said totals $225
million in fraudulent claims nationwide. WNYC
