DANGEROUS IDEAS: SUnS11 FRIDAY, JANUARY 28

Researchers are invited to attend the fifth Scene Understanding Symposium (SUnS’11), which will feature speakers and presentations focusing on scene understanding and special cognition, object recognition, attention, visual search and much more. The Symposium will take place on Friday, January 28 from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences Auditorium at MIT, 46-3002.

Our research spans from modeling the dynamic processes that occur on the Web (how information networks grow and evolve, how individual and collective traffic patterns emerge, how attention bursts are generated and shaped by social and search tools) to designing tools that mine the Web to build better search, navigation, management, and recommendation tools (where ‘better’ means more intelligent, autonomous, robust, personalized, contextual, scalable, adaptive, and so on).
